Some more Norwegian black metal only this album seems to me a little less harsh, cold and brutal than the rest and a lot more interesting to me personally. At times they sound like the standard cold Norwegian stuff but they use some guitars with more 'roar' and warmth to them, thus changing the sound completely. The occasional tasteful keyboard and acoustic guitar make for a more interesting album then the rest. The songs vary from harsh and heavy ones to haunting beauties and there are none of the extreme blast beats. Vocals are black raspy growls but sound a little more controlled. Overall, this is an impressive and very recommended album if you're looking for something in between the melodic stuff and the brutal (usually boring) black stuff.
